Being admitted to the profession of veterinary medicine, I solemnly swear to use my scientific knowledge and skills for the benefit of society through the protection of animal health and welfare, the prevention and relief of animal suffering, the conservation of animal resources, the promotion of public health, and the advancement of medical knowledge.

I will practice my profession conscientiously, with dignity, and in keeping with the principles of veterinary medical ethics.

I accept as a lifelong obligation the continual improvement of my professional knowledge and competence.

Dr. Darin Meulebroeck, DVM

Dr. Meulebroeck earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree at the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine in 2003, and is a member of both the American Veterinary Medical Association and the North Dakota Veterinary Medical Association. He is licensed to practice in North Dakota, South Dakota, and Minnesota, and is the attending veterinarian for the University of North Dakota Center for Biomedical Research.

Dr. Jessica Olson, DVM

Dr. Jessica Olson earned her doctoral degree from Colorado State University. Prior to obtaining her doctorate, she received a bachelor’s degree in animal science from North Dakota State University as an undergrad. Dr. Olson also gained industry experience as an associate veterinarian at the Devils Lake Animal Clinic. She is the proud owner of two dogs, two horses, and one mini mule.

Dr. Dan Burchill, DVM

Dr. Burchill assists GVAH by referral only, and offers advanced services and equipment for orthopedic and other unique surgical needs. Dr. Burchill previously owned a private veterinary practice for 16 years. He received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree at Iowa State University in 1994, and is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association and the North Dakota Veterinary Medical Association. Dr. Burchill is licensed to practice in North Dakota, South Dakota, Montana, and Minnesota.

Desiree Lacher

Licensed Veterinary Technician

Having originally joined GVAH in 2012, Desiree recently returned to our team as a Licensed Vet Tech. She earned her Associate of Applied Science degree from Ridgewater College. When she’s not at the clinic helping to care for clients’ pets, Desiree is surrounded by her own – her dogs Lucy and Charlie, her cats Bernie, Randy, and Ash, and her horses Dakota, Angy, Claire, Tina, Ace, Sonora, and Dancer.

Kendra Dawson

Licensed Veterinary Technician

After earning her Associate Degree in Veterinary Technology from Ridgewater College in Willmar, Minnesota, Kendra joined the GVAH family in August of 2021, and became a Licensed Veterinary Technician in 2022, earning her certificate from Ridgewater. She loves spending time with her boyfriend and all her pets, which include her two cats Mackie and Chester, her chocolate lab Chuck, and her turtle Franklin.

Nathonia Young

Veterinary Assistant

Nathonia assists our veterinarians with caring for the animals that come to see us. Along with earning her bachelor’s degree in Wildlife & Fisheries Management from the University of North Dakota and her experience volunteering at other vet clinics and the Crookston Humane Society, she brings her desire to help animals and is working toward her Veterinary Technician degree. Nathonia also loves caring for her own pets including four dogs, four cats, and a plethora of goats, geese, chickens, ducks, birds, and fish.

Shy Robinson

Veterinary Assistant

Joining us in 2023 as a Veterinary Assistant, Shy has become an integral part of our team, assisting doctors and techs, ensuring patient care, administering vaccines, and lending a hand wherever needed. Prior to GVAH, she honed her skills at an animal hospital in South Carolina. With certifications in vet science, agriculture, small animal care, and computer science from Lexington Tech Center in Columbia, SC, her expertise lies in companion and small animal care. Shy is also a proud pet parent to a lively chihuahua named Kane and several sugar gliders!

Brianna Young, Receptionist and VA

Front Office Manager & Veterinary Assistant

Brianna has been part of the GVAH family since 2018. Her responsibilities include managing communication with clients and staff and assisting the veterinarians with all behind-the-scenes tasks. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from the University of North Dakota and brings experience in animal care from her time at a veterinary clinic in Nebraska. Outside of work Brianna enjoys showing and breeding French Bulldogs and spending time with her own Frenchies Zero and Tuvii, German Shepherd Draven, sphynx cat Nigel and Maine Coon Corvin.

Kylie Hudzik

Receptionist

Kylie brings her love of animals to GVAH, having studied animal science at University of Minnesota – Crookston. Some of her favorite things about coming to work are helping her coworkers and clients, and learning something new every day. In her free time, Kylie enjoys reading, working out, and caring for her two cats and two dogs.

Techs who have obtained 2 to 4 years of post-high school education and have an associate’s or bachelor’s degree in veterinary technology. 

VA

Veterinary Assistant

Typically receiving on-the-job training, assistants care for the overall well-being of animals by helping vets and vet technicians with routine care tasks.
